Indian Dance Drama Ramayana
Insight into Indian culture
End of February Karlsruhe got an insight into Indian culture: the Indian dance drama Ramayana was performed by “Lasya Priya Fine Arts” with support from, among others, the "German-Indian Society" and the cultural office of the city of Karlsruhe. Visitors could discover the combination of dance and drama that covers the entire “Ramayana”, an Indian national epic!

Whether Bala-Kanda (book of childhood), Ayodhya-Kanda (Lord Rama's wedding and stay in Ayodhya), Aranyaka-Kanda (forest book), Kishkindha-Kanda (Lord Rama meets Hanuman, the monkey prince), Sundara Kanda (adventure of Hanuman) or Yuddha-Kanda (battle between Lord Rama and Ravan): The main hero of Ramayana is a prince named Rama, an incarnation of the god Vishnu, who came down to earth as an avatar to free the world from the demon lord Ravana.
