Education Drives Digitisation
On an enlarged area, LEARNTEC presents the future of learning
Digitisation continues to accelerate and is causing profound transformations in all areas of life. Fields of activity and job descriptions are changing rapidly. Digital education plays a major role here as a driver of digitisation. Once again from 30 January to 1 February, 2018, LEARNTEC – the leading trade fair for digital education in schools, universities and vocational training – will be a platform for current trends and future developments in digital education. More than 7,500 specialised visitors are expected to attend the three-day fair.
“Learning with digital media is relevant nowadays in all areas of education. Digital education has become a growth market that gives LEARNTEC progressively greater dynamism with each passing year”, says Britta Wirtz, Managing Director of Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH. “For the first time, LEARNTEC will occupy two halls and thus make available more exhibition area than ever before at the trade fair. I am very pleased about this because we are eager to comprehensively present the full spectrum of offers in this industry.”
Significantly better than planned
Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH (KMK) presented its balance sheet figures for 2016.
2016 was a record-breaking year for generated contribution margin. KMK’s Managing Director Britta Wirtz comments on this all-time high: “Operational results totalled 7.5 million euros, an improvement of 1.9 million euros compared to the 2016 business plan. This accomplishment far exceeds our expectations and is the best operative result ever achieved by the company. Intensive expansion of the portfolio certainly pays off.”
The improvement in generated contribution margin II, which occurred simultaneously with a slight decline in revenues, underscores the fact that the company possesses the most valuable portfolio since its founding.
NUFAM to open fourth hall
Strong growth for commercial vehicle trade fair
NUFAM’s success is set to continue in 2017, with the three planned trade fair halls already booked or optioned to a great extent. Because of this, Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH is now opening the fourth hall in the exhibition grounds, providing up to 12,500 square metres in additional space for the trade fair. With some 350 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors, Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre will be the meeting point for the commercial vehicle sector from 28 September to 1 October 2017. “The exhibitors have recognised the quality of NUFAM and are acknowledging this by booking early”, as Britta Wirtz, Managing Director of Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH, explains: “We have decided to open the fourth hall in order to accommodate this growth.”
NUFAM’s growth can be attributed above all to the additional providers in Workshop, Parts and Accessories, to new exhibitors in Light Commercial Vehicles and to larger exhibition spaces for existing exhibitors. Strong brands such as Bridgestone, Kempf Fahrzeugbau, Langendorf, Palfinger, Reisch Fahrzeugbau, Schwarzmüller, Suer Nutzfahrzeugtechnik and TSE have all increased their stand area.

Deutsche Industrie weiter im Aufwind
Die deutsche Industrie hat im Mai nochmals leicht an Dynamik gewonnen.
