With the successful partnership between India and Germany, between Maharashtra and Baden-Württemberg, between Pune and Karlsruhe, more and more topics are being added: many of them were discussed during the delegation trip with Minister of State Dr. Florian Stegmann, Karlsruhe Mayor Dr. Frank Mentrup and 16 other high-ranking representatives from business, politics and culture.

After business, science, education and culture, another building block is now being added: The district craftsmen's association (Kreishandwerkerschaft Region Karlsruhe) in the Karlsruhe region was able to present its lighthouse project "Craft.Roadshow" in Aurangabad, Pune and Mumbai - among others to Deputy Prime Minister Davendra Fadnavis, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, the German Consul General Achim Fabig, some educational institutions and CEOs of German companies with branches in India.

Karlsruhe Planning in Pune

Exchange around the 90 hectare "Eco-Industrial Park" in Pune, planned with support from Karlsruhe. The EU-funded "IURC program" is about a "Center of Excellence in Urban Planning" concept. Creating an appropriate living space that also supports international investment decisions for SMEs: Various options are to be developed together for this purpose.

Urban Development in the Focus

At the beginning of February 2023, a delegation from Karlsruhe traveled to the Indian state of Maharashtra, the partner country of Baden-Württemberg. Besides other places, the "AURIC-City" development area was visited in Aurangabad. The area is currently under development and is intended to combine living, shopping, local supply and industry in the future - also including sustainability aspects, a so-called "mixed zone".

The group of experts from Karlsruhe informed themselves about other possible transnational aspects and cooperations. Baden-Württemberg & Karlsruhe on a delegation trip to Maharashtra

Close, reliable and successful partnerships also include regular and personal people - especially across national borders. At the beginning of February, a delegation from Baden-Württemberg was once again in the Indian state of Maharashtra, the partner country of "The Länd" - to strengthen cooperation with the partner state.

Topics included cooperation on green hydrogen technologies and recruiting skilled workers. "In a world of global challenges and geopolitical change, it is more important than ever to stand together and cooperate," said Minister of State and Head of the State Chancellery Dr. Florian Stegmann on the occasion of his trip to India.

A German-Indian delegation, including from the cities of Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, visited Aurangabad, Pune and Mumbai, places with which the cities mentioned have been cooperating successfully for years. "Eight years ago, we started to establish a strong dialogue with Maharashtra, our partner state," says Stegmann.

Anlaufstelle in Pune

 

Die Kooperation zwischen Karlsruhe und dem indischen Pune ist einen Schritt weiter: Im Januar 2014 wurde im "MCCIA Trade Tower", 403, Senapati Bapat Road, eine direkte Karlsruher Anlaufstelle mit den Repräsentantinnen Iris Becker und Winnie Kulkarni von "Let's Bridge IT" in Pune eröffnet.

Durch Erfolg und Ausbau der vielfältigen Aktivitäten - ob Infos rund um den Standort Karlsruhe, aktiv Kontakte zu indischen Firmen halten oder deutsche Firmen aus der TRK in und um Pune bekannter machen - erfolgte im März 2018 ein Umzug in neue Räumlichkeiten, auch durch die Erweiterung um die Repräsentanz des Landes Baden-Württembergs in Maharashtra sowie das Marketingbüro der „Hochschul Föderation Südwest“.
