As Martin Gerster, member of the Bundestag and SPD budget expert, reported to the city of Karlsruhe, the Bundestag's budget committee has set the appropriate course and approved the first 278 million euros of the project, which is set to cost 500 million euros by 2024.
"This is a terrific success for the city and the TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe with its science and research institutions," said Lord Mayor Dr. Frank Mentrup, pleased with the successful application for one of the sought-after locations in the centre's network.

"In his letter, Federal Transport Minister Andres Scheuer expressly confirmed the excellent quality of the research cluster in Karlsruhe and emphasised that user, trial and test fields will be created in the decentralised locations. This is a huge opportunity for Karlsruhe and the entire region".
And this is also a great opportunity for the entire international network of Karlsruhe to get involved accordingly.
